Happy Bay in Saint Martin

Happy Bay is one of my favorite beaches in the island. Only a handful wants to go there. Maybe because it requires much effort. There are two ways to go, drive further past the left turn to Friar’s bay or go to Friar’s bay and hike. I prefer the hiking. There are no commercial business in the place, maybe only one. There are no loud music as I believe there are no electricity there. So if you want to have a relaxed beaching and have a nice sun bathing without much disturbance, try Happy Bay.

PS. Clothing optional! 🙂

On the way to Happy Bay, you will encounter a lot of Tamarind trees!

This is the view of Friar’s bay!

Be happy in Happy Bay! Some remnants of last month’s SXM Festival still.

The sound of blue waves kissing the white sands of Happy bay is everything!

St. Martin and St. Maarten

St. Martin pertains to the French portion and St. Maarten pertains to the Dutch portion. Living in this beautiful island is wonderful. Beautiful beaches and amazing view, these are just two of the things that the island can offer!

Saba and Mt. Scenery

These are my shots using Iphone SE. 🙂

Beautiful view of the Bottom. I believe Saba’s university is somewhere in that structures.
Saba has a lot of chruches. What makes it beautiful is the simplicity of the design and not to mention that is at the foot of the mountain where it literally touches the clouds.
At the front of the church is a centuries old cemetery.
Saba has a lot of flora and fauna. This is a fern? not really sure
Cute white flower. For ID.
Yellow is the color of joy. These cutesy will greet you on your trail to Saba’s Mt. Scenery
Another white flowers!

Saba and Mt. Scenery

Saba is a small island in the Caribbean which is still under the Netherland’s kingdom. It is known as the “Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean”. Well, true indeed for I witness how the culture and heritage of this beautiful island have preserved albeit long passage of time.

Breathtaking views of Saba! What amazes me is that the houses are uniform in terms of color of the roof, the facade and the windows! Indeed Saba-mazing!

Saba is a paradise in the Caribbean region. This is the cleanest place I have been. I have seen no trash in the streets of Saba‘s town proper. A clean place is beautiful place!

If you want to have rest and maybe peace of mind, go to this place. The serenity and tranquility of the place will help you a lot in maybe figuring out what you need to figure out in life. 🙂

Saba’s churches were built as early at the 17th century! What is also amazing is there is a cemetery at the front of this church. These people were born on the 1800s. Growing up I have always had a great fascination about centuries old structure or things!

We did the hike to Mt. Scenery which is actually the highest point in all Netherland’s kingdom! How is that for an achievement! The trail is easy. But be sure to have a strong legs and a lot of stamina. This has 1065 steps, if my memory serves me right. Going up is tiring but at the same time refreshing because the cold wind will greet you as you slowly ascend Mt. Scenery. Also, some mountain chickens, donkey and lizards will meet you on your way! Too bad, when we got to the summit it was all cloudy. We can literally hold the clouds!

A day visit is not enough to discover Saba. This leaves us the promise to go back to her and stay with her a little longer.

Meanwhile, here is the amateur video of our hike to Mt. Scenery.
